Charter Global Team Supports Women in Technology at WIT Connect

The Charter Global team was honored to participate in WIT Connect, a fund raiser event to provide scholarships and programs for young women pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering & math (STEM). Charter Global sponsored a table, and team members served as volunteers.


Ken-AlidaThe event was held at the Georgia Aquarium ballroom. Executives from area technology companies bid on luxury items, airfare packages, and executive sponsor packages with whale sharks and beluga whales in the background. Four young women involved in WIT were awarded scholarships ranging from $5000 to $20,000.


Dana Barrett, a TV & radio personality, business commentator, and host of The Dana Barrett Show, served as emcee for the program. Keynote speaker, DebbieIMG_3061-300x225 Sterling, Founder and CEO, GoldieBlox, spoke of her journey and challenges in pursuing her passion. She attended Stanford and earned a degree in engineering. Then, following her dream against many odds, she launched a line of toys that engages and encourages girls to enjoy science and technology — GoldieBlox.
